William “Bill” Thrush, 87, of Brookville, PA, passed away on September 25, 2024, while a resident of Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Bill was born on September 21, 1937, to the late Wilber Dale and Laura Agnes (Lindsey) Thrush, in Brookville, PA. He graduated from Brookville High School. Bill served in the United States Army Reserves. Bill married Diane Nourse on August 16, 1985, in Brockway, PA; Diane survives him. Bill was a mechanic before he drove truck for forty years. He was a member of Teamsters in Ohio. Bill loved wood working and camping. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play and drinking Coors Light. Bill was well known by the name “Lazy Bones” or “Bones” by his friends. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by three children: Mindy Guthrie, Heather (Scott) Guntrum, Bill Jr. (Shelly) Thrush; other children: Debby (Ken) Nicase, Rebecca (Dennis) Eckert, Melissa Becker, Jeffrey Shisler; seven grandchildren; Michael (Heather) Guthrie, Aron Guthrie, Tiffany (Trevor) Straitiff, Jade Guntrum, Samatha Kocher, Colt Thrush, Wyatt Thrush; five other grandchildren: Eric (Lisa) Howard, Kevin Howard, Jessica Becker, Ryar (Sophie) Becker, Tristan (Liz) Becker. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren with another great-grandchild on the way. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in passing by his grandson: Joshua Guthrie. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 1pm – 5pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11am and officiated by Reverend Glenn McQuowen.
