Walter Wayne Winters, 85, of Corsica, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, while a patient at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, PA. Walter was born on January 21, 1940, in Brookville, PA, he was the son of John Winters and Ethel Burkett. Walter was a 1958 graduate of Brookville Area High School. Over the years, he worked for Shaffer Buick, Goodwill, and Brookville Glove, where he formed lasting friendships and a strong work ethic. On April 1, 1972, Walter married the love of his life, Nancy Harris, in their beloved home in Corsica, PA. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared passions. Walter had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life—gardening vegetables and flowers, tending to his beloved tractors, fishing, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was also a devoted animal lover and leaves behind his three cherished cats: Smokey, Tommy, and Boots. Though Walter was a man of quiet faith, he was methodist by belief. Walter was a member of the Heath Township Sportsman Club. Walter’s warmth, generosity, and quiet strength will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, Walter is survived by two nieces: Tina and Johnna; along with several other nieces and nephews, who will always remember his kindness and gentle spirit. In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in passing by his three brothers: William, Paul, and Robert; and one nephew, Brian Winters. Family and friends are invited to honor Walter’s life on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A second viewing will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 10am to 11am, at the Corsica Global Methodist Church, 337 Olean Rd., Corsica, PA 15829. A funeral service will be held immediately following the second viewing beginning at 11am and officiated by Pastor Jeff Ford and Reverend Kurt Knobel.
