Vicki Cattoi Obituary

Vicki Rae Cattoi, 71, of Ebensburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, while a patient at Penn Highlands Dubois in Dubois PA. Vicki was born on March 27, 1954, to the late Mario and Jean (Leslie) Cattoi in Spangler, PA. She attended Cambria Heights High School in Carrolltown, PA and then Altoona Vo Tech to become an LPN. She began working at Laurel Crest Manor in Ebensburg, PA in 1978, where she found her calling while working with geriatric residents. She worked at Laurel Crest Manor until her retirement in 2009.

Vicki is survived by one daughter: Melissa Miller (Andrew) Brosius of Brookville, PA; one stepdaughter: Taylor Steeves of Rochester, NY; three sisters: Leslie Terza,  Malerie Butterworth and Jamie (David) Pedersen; and one brother: Mike (Becky) Cattoi;  Vicki is also survived by three grandchildren: Austin Brosius, Joseph Brosius and Devon Brosius; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Vicki was preceded in passing by two brothers-in-law: Thomas Terza and Charles Butterworth.

Vicki was a devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren. She loved to take them to amusement parks, the zoo, out for ice cream, swimming and was especially happy when they came to stay at “Mam-maw’s house.” She really shined when it came to being a grandmother. She was always at Melissa and Andy’s house helping, babysitting and just having fun with the family. Vicki and Melissa were especially close and spent a lot of time together.  She enjoyed many “Cattoi Girls’ Trips” with Melissa, Taylor, Malerie, Jamie, Robin, Becky, her mom and her nieces, Jean and Kristin, over the years.

She was an active member of Bakerton Methodist Church where she volunteered for and contributed to fundraisers and church dinners. Her church was a place of great fellowship and comfort for her.

Vicki was a devoted friend too. She and her best friend, Cindy Flora, enjoyed going on cruises, attending community events and concerts and being in nature. Their friend group liked weightlifting, swimming, going out to dinner and just being together.

One of Vicki’s favorite places to be was the beach. She loved the warm sun and sand and the beautiful waves and sunrises. Vicki was a huge dog lover. She adopted her dog, Rocky, from Gateway Humane Society in 2016, and he never left her side.

Following Vicki’s wishes, there will be no services held.  Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Gateway Humane Society 1211 Airport Rd. Falls Creek, Pennsylvania 15840 or to the Bakerton Methodist Church 104 Sponsy Rd. Elmora, PA 15737. Contributions can also be made to these organizations on Go Fund Me under Vicki Cattoi. Arrangements were entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
