Shirley Ann (Huntington) Smith, 89, of Brookville, passed away during the early morning hours on Saturday, August 31, 2024, while a resident of Brookside Senior Living. Shirley was born on October 26, 1934, to the late Blair D. and Ruth Hazel (Baun) Huntington in Reynoldsville, PA. Shirley married Earl G. Smith on July 19, 1953, in Reynoldsville, PA; Earl precedes her in passing. She graduated from Reynoldsville High School with the class of 1952. Shirley worked for Sylvania, Fairbrook, and Whitebrook in Brookville. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Brookville. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, camping, and listening to music by Country Pride Band. She had an unwavering love for all animals. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Shirley was loving, caring, giving, and kind. She was friendly to all and had a way of making everyone laugh she came in contact with. She cared deeply for others and made friends easily. Shirley is survived by two daughters; Kim Love of Brookville, PA; Connie Smith of Rehoboth Beach, DE; three grandchildren; Jessica (Sam) McKinley of Brookville, PA; Jamie (Warren) Thrush of Brookville, PA; Julie (Michael) Greeley of Brookville, PA; five great grandchildren; Bailey Thrush; Jake McKinley; Luke McKinley; Avery Thrush; Amelia McKinley; and one brother; Jim Huntington of Reynoldsville, PA. In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley is preceded in passing by her sister, Darlene Foulkrod. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 11:00am to 3:00pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will begin immediately following the viewing, beginning at 3:00 PM, and officiated by Rev. Doug Dyson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Brookside Senior Living, 49 Brookside Lane, Brookville, PA 15825, or to the Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Road, Falls Creek, PA 15840.
