Sara "Elaine" (Lucas) Harris

Sara “Elaine” (Lucas) Harris, 83, of Brookville, PA, passed away during the evening hours of Sunday, February 2, 2025, while at her home. She was born on March 1, 1941, to the late Charles W. and Mary B (Kramer) Lucas in Brookville. Elaine graduated from Brookville High School. Elaine married John Leroy Harris on May 29, 1959, in Worthville, PA; John preceded her in passing on June 29, 2021. She had a long career at Owens Illinois, where she worked for thirty years. Elaine liked to bake and read. She enjoyed to can the vegetables from the garden that her and husband grew. She loved spending time with her family. Elaine is survived by three children: Timothy John (Karen) Harris of Hazen, PA; Grace Elizabeth (Tom) Snyder of Rossville, GA; Christopher Michael (Tina) Harris of Mims, FL; two sisters: Mabel Delp, Cathy Johnson; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. In addition to her husband and parents, Elaine was preceded in passing by two brothers: William Lucas; Richard Lucus; and two brothers in law: Richard Delp and John Johnson. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place on Friday, February 7, 2025, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11am and officiated by Pastor J. Ray Baker. Interment will take place at St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Ramsaytown, Jefferson Co., PA.
