Sandra Munoz Obituary

Sandra L. Munoz, 78, of Punxsutawney, PA passed peacefully at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital on November 9, 2021.

She was born in Johnstown, PA on October 2, 1943 to parents Harry McMinn and Freeda Kamler McMinn, both of whom preceded her in death.

Sandra attended Ferndale High School in the Johnstown area and spent much of her life in Johnstown where she met and married the love of her life, Salvadore Munoz.

She and Salvadore had two children, Shawn Munoz, currently of Punxsutawney and Daniel Munoz also of Punxsutawney.   The family moved from Johnstown to Punxsutawney in 1975 and lived in the Punxsy area since that time.

Sandra worked at both the Rola-Jensen plant in Punxsy as well as North American Carbon (NAC) for many years.

She is survived by her son Shawn and his fiancé Christine State and her son Daniel.  She’s also survived by two brothers, Harry “Butch” McMinn Jr. of Johnstown and Robert McMinn of Johnstown as well as one sister, Nancy and her husband Lou Beaujon, also of Johnstown.

Also surviving are several grandchildren, Deric Munoz and wife Kate of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Ryan Munoz and wife Ashley and their son Isaac (a great grandchild) of DuBois, PA., and Damien Munoz of Punxsutawney.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents as well as by her sister Connie Swank of Johnstown and her brother Leonard McMinn, also of Johnstown.

In her free time, Sandra loved to crochet and listen to music.   Her tastes in music were quite eclectic ranging from The 3 Tenors, to the Statler Brothers to the glam rock of Def Leppard.  Her most enjoyable activity was spending time with her family.

Sandra’s funeral arrangements have been under the care of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home of Punxsutawney.

As per her family’s request, a private memorial service will be held in the Spring at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Johnstown, PA.
