Sandra Kay (McManigle) Beatty

Sandra Kay (McManigle) Beatty, 84, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, while a resident at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Sandra was born on January 1, 1939, to the late Alonzo and Christine (Duncan) McManigle in Brookville. She graduated from Brookville Area High School with the class of 1956.  She then went on to get her LPN from Jeff Tech. Sandra married John “Turk” Beatty on December 16, 1956, at the Baptist Church in Richardsville, PA; Turk preceded her in passing. She worked at Slyvania, then as a private duty nurse, and then retired from Plylers’s Restaurant. She was a member of the Brookville Presbyterian Church as well as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Sandra loved her home and especially enjoyed the outdoors, Big Country Campground being one of her favorite places to visit and participate in activities. She loved the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, but enjoyed watching her own grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoy their sports even more. Sandra loved her family and will be dearly missed by many. Sandra is survived by three children; Douglas (Laura) Beatty; Duncan (Brenda) Beatty; John (Nancy) Wirick; eight grandchildren; Sarah (Bo) Gallagher; Justin Beatty; Tucker (Kayla) Beatty; Stephanie Beatty; Alexander (Audra) Beatty; Tyler (Camille) Beatty; Tymothy (Molly) Wirick; Carly Wirick; and eight great grandchildren; JD Gallagher; Benjamin Gallagher; Lucas Gallagher; Aaron Beatty; August Beatty; Oliver Beatty; Kendall Wirick; and Andy Wirick. In addition to her husband and parents, Sandy was preceded in passing by her daughter, Shari Beatty; two brothers; and two sisters. A memorial service will be held at a later date and have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
