Ruth Marie Marchioni, 98, passed away on April 15, 2026, while a resident at the DuBois Village. Born in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Russell Verne and Ethlyn Ruth (Nupp) Timblin. On February 3, 1951, Ruth married Joseph Paul Marchioni. He preceded her in death in 2010.
A woman of many talents, Ruth was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed quilting. She played the piano, organ and guitar, and was a fantastic cook and baker. Her children will cherish memories of the scent of fresh homemade bread filling the house and gathering as a family for made-from-scratch spaghetti dinners. She had a lifelong love of gardening and found joy in nurturing her vibrant flower beds. She loved spending time with her family and was always up for a friendly game of cards, a good board game, or an afternoon of working on a jigsaw puzzle.
She resided and worked in the Reynoldsville/DuBois area most of her life. She retired from the DuBois Hospital in 1993 as a medical transcriptionist in the Radiology Department.
Ruth will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Terry) Guilyard; her two sons, Joseph Marchioni, Jr. and David (Gloria) Marchioni; her grandchildren Brandon Marchioni, Staci Marchioni, Elizabeth (Chad) Fewell, Isabella Marchioni and Gino Marchioni; and her great-grandson Lennon.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her nine siblings: Chester Timblin, Merle Timblin, Clarabel Rose, Elva Nelson, Dolores Jean Clayton, Mary Reiter, Russell “Pete” Timblin, Lois Lellock, and Harvey Timblin.
Private interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Reynoldsville under the direction of Synder-d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. Online condolences and other information may be found by visiting www.dargyfh.com
