Robert E. Kurten

Robert “Bob” W. Kurten, 74, of Reynoldsville, PA, died on Saturday, May 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after a long illness with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born September 15, 1949, in DuBois, PA, to the late Eugene Samuel and Beulah (Gearhart) Kurten. He married Peggy (Bussard) Kurten in 1971. Survivors include his wife Peggy, and two sons, Brant Kurten of Reynoldsville, PA, and Eric Kurten of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by his siblings: Nina (Chester) Kriner of Reynoldsville, PA, Denise (Doug) DeLong of Goodlettsville, TN, Debra Bullers of Rockton, PA, Nancy (Bruce) Sedor of DuBois, PA, Elizabeth Kammerdiener of DuBois, PA; half sister: Barb (Dawn) Quashnock of Reynoldsville, PA; and half brother: Brad Kurten of Reynoldsville, PA. Proceeded in death by his brother: Daniel Gearhart; half brother: E. Samuel Kurten Jr.; and brother in law: John Bullers. Bob was an avid hunter and was well loved by all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Penn Highlands Community Nurses Hospice, 757 Johnsonburg Rd., Suite 200, St. Mary’s, PA 15857. There will be no public viewing or funeral.
