Robert L. Himes Sr., 98, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville, PA. Bob was born on August 26, 1927, to the late Jesse K. and Mary E. (Trayer) Himes in Timblin, PA. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Bob married Belva Loleta Motter on July 10, 1946, Loleta preceded him passing on April 26, 2004. He was a manager of Agway Feed and Petroleum in Brookville for thirty- three years. Bob was a member of the Sigel United Methodist Church, in recent years, Bob attended the Brookville Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Sigel Sportsman’s Club. Bob enjoyed hunting and maintaining his perfectly manicured yard. He liked to tinker around his house. He also enjoyed picnics and going for coffee with his sons and friends. Bob is survived by four sons, Gerald E. (Shirley) Himes, Michael W. (Karen) Himes, Samuel R. Himes, Stephen D. (Carol) Himes, one daughter, Mary E. (Richard) Greeley, nineteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Robert is preceded in passing by one son, Robert L Himes Jr., one grandson, Jason Himes, one granddaughter, Michele Himes, one great granddaughter, Amelia Slagle, three brothers, Emerson Himes, Cloyd Himes, and Max Himes, five sisters, Jean Siar, Lucy Mackey, Hazel Hafferly, Alda Zachrael, Margie Stahlman. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 2pm – 8pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825. A second viewing will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 10am -11am also at the funeral home. A funeral service will take place immediately following the viewing beginning at 11 am and officiated by Randy Matheny, Pastor of Brookville Church of Christ.
