Patti Sue (Ruffner) Susko

Patti Sue (Ruffner) Susko, 65, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, while at her home. She was born on May 24, 1958, to the late Phillip A. and Katherine “Kay” (Bovaird) Ruffner in Brookville. She graduated from Brookville Area High School with the class of 1976, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1980. She was a helper by nature but also by choice and this was expressed in her choice of career as a registered nurse. She also donated her time and talents with those in AA, and connected programs. She sponsored and advocated for those in need. Above all Patti loved her children and grandchildren. She led an active lifestyle and enjoyed many hobbies including: yoga, biking, and exercise classes. She had a beautifully creative mind and expressed this through her many hobbies including: writing, poetry, drawing, painting, photography as well as a true passion and love for all music,musicians, art and artists of all kinds. Patti was extremely intelligent, selfless, genuine, thoughtful, passionate, strong and kind. Patti’s faith in God guided her always, and she had a strong active spiritual life. She was a devout Christian and this was obvious in all of her loving interactions and service to others. She is remembered by her contagious energy and ability to make people laugh. She was a loving and supportive mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be dearly missed by many. Patti is survived by three children; Benjamin (Megan) Jones; James (Kelly) Susko; Samantha (Christos) Pihiou; six grandchildren; Alexis Susko; James Susko; Lyla Susko; Fallon Jones; Pierce Jones; Dimitri Pihiou; and four siblings; Stan (Debi) Ruffner; Cindy (Marty) Zidek; Barbie (Roger) Fitzgerald; and Paul (Theresa) Ruffner. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 5pm to 8pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00am and officiated by Reverend Stanley Bhasker. Final interment will take place at St. John’s (Windy Hill) Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
