Noemi Evans

Noemi Evans, 90, of Punxsutawney, PA, passed away during the late-night hours of Saturday, March 15, 2025, while a patient at Penn Highlands DuBois in DuBois, PA. Noemi was born on May 31, 1934, to the late Elias Sr. and Maria (Caballero) Rivas in San Antonio, TX. She graduated from San Antonio Vocational and Technical High School with the Class of 1952. She was catholic by faith. Noemi married Gerald Evans on February 1, 1958; Gerald preceded her in passing on February 28, 2015. She worked at different places over the years. Most importantly she was a homemaker, taking care of her home and family. Noemi is survived by two sons: Robert (Tina) Evans and Gerald Evans; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons. In addition to her parents and husband, Noemi was preceded in passing by six brothers and one sister. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 2pm to 6pm, at the Fait – d’Argy Funeral Home, 117 N. Jefferson St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767. A funeral service will be held immediately following the viewing, beginning at 6pm and officiated by Pastor Sam Bundy. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney, Jefferson Co., PA.
