Melva Jane (Kohler) McGranor, 80, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away during the afternoon hours of Saturday, April 1, 2023, while at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 13, 1942, to the late Harold Leroy and Edna Mae (Deemer) Kohler in DuBois, PA. She worked at multiple grocery stores in the area as a deli or bakery attendant. Melva married Thomas Leroy McGranor on November 19, 1960, in Buffalo, NY; Thomas preceded her in passing. She was a member of the Lutheran Church on Jackson Street in Reynoldsville. Melva was an avid volunteer, offering her help with multiple causes, including Jefferson County Community Action, Toys for Tots, and the Reynoldsville Foundry. She was also a very active member of the community holding memberships with Reynoldsville Eagles #540, Reynoldsville American Legion, Machias Home Bureau of Machias, NY, Red Hats, and the DuBois Bowling League. Melva had a kind heart and a caring way of living that will be missed dearly by her family and community. Melva is survived by five children; Melva S. (Darrel Askew) McGranor-Wolfe; Theresa D. (JR Clark) McGranor; Sarah E. Carter; Thomas Leroy (Rebecca) McGranor; Patricia Ann (Michael J. Howe) McGranor; one brother; Frederick (Robin) Kohler; nineteen grandchildren; and twenty nine great grandchildren with one on the way. A Celebration of Life will take place on July 22, 2023, from 1pm to 4pm at the Reynoldsville American Legion, 305 Broadway St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851.
