Mavourneen “Vonnie” Dame King, 79, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, while a resident of Christ the King Manor in DuBois, PA. Vonnie was born on September 14, 1945, to the late Stanley Prescott and Mildred Myrtle (Esterbroks) Dame, in Loconia, NH. Vonnie married Paul A. King on May 31, 1962, in Maryland; Paul preceded her in passing on January 21, 2011. She graduated from high school and worked for The Sheridan Inn and Best Western. She then worked for Kmart as their layaway specialist and ran the department. Lastly, she worked for Walmart where she retired from in 2007. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Reynoldsville. Vonnie was very crafty and enjoyed card making, scrap booking, and crocheting. She liked to be outside in the summer, tending to her flowers. She loved to go to the ocean for family vacation alternating between Ocean City and Virginia Beach. She passed that tradition on to her children and their families, which they hold near and dear to their hearts. Vonnie and her husband created and were known for, their “Moon Sandwich” that they sold during the Reynoldsville Homecoming. They were completely homemade and always had a line at their stand until they sold out. Vonnie was the protector of her family and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Vonnie is survived by three children: Paula (Alan) Lucas, Chris (Jackie) King, and Ted (Becky) King; seven grandchildren: Vinnie (Angie) King, Vance (Heather) Newell, Sarah (Erik) Anderson, C.J. (Alicia) King, Dylan (Erin) King, Maddison King, and Morgan King; and nine great-grandchildren. Vonnie is preceded in passing by her parents and husband. All services will be held privately to the family and have been entrusted to the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851.
