Mary Dougherty Obituary

Mary M. Dougherty, 92, of Brookville, PA, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, while a resident at Brookside Senior Living in Brookville. Born on May 7, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Wesley Watson and Loretta (McDonald) Long, and stepdaughter of the late Charles Long. Mary was raised by Charles and always referred to him as her father. Mary was a high school graduate and spent most of her working life as a manger in retail. She married Eugene Dougherty and they spent sixty-three loving years together until his passing in 2013. Mary will be dearly missed by family and friends. Mary is survived by her daughter, Marianne Dougherty of Sigel, PA, Dorothy Klassner (friend for 85 years), her daughter Doreen and husband Daniel Clarkson of Scranton, PA. Numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in passing by her brother, Joseph F. Watson and many pets. Memorial donations may be made to a pet shelter of your choice or the Morris Animal Foundation. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at later date in Scranton, PA. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
