Mary Ruth (Plyler) Baun, 73, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, while a resident of Warren Nursing & Rehab in Warren, OH. She was born on March 23, 1950, to the late Mearl Haven and Mary Kathryn (Kirkwood) Plyler in DuBois, PA. Mary graduated from DuBois Area High School with the class of 1968 and worked for the Courier Express. Mary married Clair Willard Baun on October 29, 1969, in Baltimore, MD; Clair preceded her in passing on March 7, 2001. Mary attended the First United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville. She loved to travel and was known to attend NASCAR events, other sporting events, and concerts. Mary was a healthy person who took care of herself and could sometimes be found exercising at the DuBois YMCA. She loved listening to music and playing cards with her family. Mary loved vacationing and specifically enjoyed trips to the beach and going on cruises. Mary was a devout believer in God who enjoyed studying her Bible and attending church. Above all else, Mary loved her family and friends and will be dearly missed by many. Mary is survived by two sons; Stephen (Kim) Baun; Anthony (Julie) Baun; one grandchild; Rheanna Margaret Baun; four siblings; Cathy (George Maczaczyj) Plyler; Margaret “Peg” Plyler; Joanne (Denny) Depello; James (Janet) Plyler; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in passing by three grandchildren; Matthew Baun; Kathryn Baun; and Annie Baun. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 4pm to 8pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 14, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church, 504 Jackson Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851, beginning at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Reynoldsville Cemetery, Reynoldsville, Jefferson Co., PA.
