Mark Watt Obituary

Mark D. Watt, 63, of Rathmel, passed away unexpectantly at home on Thursday December 1, 2022. He was born in DuBois April 6, 1959 and was the son of Daniel G. Watt and Doris C. (McKee) Watt. Mark was a 1977 graduate of Vo-Tech in Reynoldsville. He was married in DuBois on May 4, 1991 to Dr. Wendy Strouse. He was employed at the screw works in Sykesville, DuBrook, the Riverside in Reynoldsville as a packer, and the Riverside Warehouse. He retired in  2007 from the Warehouse. He was preceded in death by his Father, his Paternal and Maternal Grandparents. He is survived by her wife, Dr. Wendy Strouse Watt, his Mother Doris Watt, his Brother Dennis (Lee Anne) Watt, Nephews David August and Matt Watt, Niece Jessie August (Mike), Great Nieces Madalyn, Jordan, Maggie, Hailey, Tashawna, Great Nephew Hayden, his Aunt Mary Fannin, and numerous cousins. Mark was a previous member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a current member of First United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville, where he had been a fill-in Usher, helped packing after the Rummage Sale, and thoroughly enjoyed the Pancake Breakfasts.  He liked playing volleyball and met Wendy there. He enjoyed bowling, having bowled in the mixed league at DuBois Lanes on the Bowling Stones Team. In the past, he enjoyed golfing with his buddy John. He loved his Harley, Polaris, and his Kabota Tractor. He was a member of the Sykesville Eagles and enjoyed fellowship with his buddies on Fridays and get togethers with his family. He was a proud member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.  He loved his kitties—Ray, Boots, and Daisy and his fish. He fed the birds, crows, stray cats, and possums outside. He was a jokester and enjoyed teasing his great nieces and Mikayla and Wheels.  Viewing will be Friday, Dec. 2nd 6 –8 PM at the The First United Methodist Church, 504 Jackson St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A service will be held Saturday, Dec. 3rd at 11 AM at The First United Methodist Church, with viewing until the time of service. Burial will be in the Reynoldsville Cemetery. Memorials can be made to First UMC and the Gateway Humane Society.
