Kay Joanne (Hagerty) Smith, 85, of Summerville, PA, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, while a resident at Clarion Heath Care and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion, PA. Kay was born on December 15, 1938, to the late James Lester and Frances Helen (Bidenour – Roche) Hagerty in Hazen, PA. She graduated from Leavittsburg Area High School with the Class of 1958. Kay worked for Owens Illinois in Clarion for 12 years and then their Brockway location for 3 years. She enjoyed her time at home watching her children grow up. Kay married Norman Reesman on October 23, 1960; Norman preceded her in passing. She attended the Hazen Methodist Church and the Zion Baptist Church in Clarion. Kay was Christian by faith. Kay was very creative and artistic. She enjoyed painting and drawing along with knitting, crochet, and making jewelry. She liked to read a lot and raise flowers. Kay is survived by three sons: William Leon Smith, James “Jim” Harry (Ruth) Smith, and Gordon Dwayne Smith; one daughter: Kathy Lynn Harmon; nine grandchildren: Colby Smith, Jesse Smith, Andy Smith, Tonya Harmon, Shasta Smith, Travis Smith, Amanda Smith, Tera Harmon; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Kay is preceded in passing by one great-granddaughter: Ronni Smith. All services will be held privately to the family and have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
