Kathryn "Kathy" Stephan Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathryn "Kathy" Stephan (née Michler), who departed from this world on July 8, 2024. Born on March 24, 1948, to Dolores LeJeune Michler and Bertram Michler in Pittsburgh, PA, Kathy lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication.

Kathy was a proud graduate of Divine Providence Academy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She went on to further her education and training at St. Margaret’s School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, from which she graduated as a dedicated and respected nurse. Her calm demeanor and infectious laughter brought comfort and joy to her colleagues and patients alike at both Brookville and DuBois Hospitals. Her career was a testament to her unwavering commitment to helping others and her exceptional ability to remain composed in any situation.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Bertram Michler, and her brother Kenneth Michler. She is survived by her brother David Michler and his wife Karen of Gibsonia, PA, and by Kenneth's wife, Jean Michler, of Shippensburg, PA.

Kathy’s legacy lives on through her three children: Martin Stephan of Brookville, PA; Matthew Stephan and his wife Megumi of Yokohama, Japan; and Wendy Reynolds of Brookville, PA. Her pride and joy were her eight grandchildren: Abbey, Emma, Luna, Ellis, Kohaku, Atticus, Anna, and Miyu, who brought immense joy to her life.

Kathy found great pleasure in the simple joys of life, particularly in tending to her beautiful flower gardens and playing with her cherished grandchildren. Her green thumb and love for nature were evident in the vibrant blooms that surrounded her home.

Kathy Stephan's kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to her family and profession have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her memory will be forever cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
