Juanita Kay McKinley, 79, of Brookville, PA, passed away during the early morning hours of Friday, August 9, 2024, while a resident at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville. Juanita was born on July 2, 1945, to the late John Kennedy and Lillian Juanita (Covey) Johnson in New Kensington, PA. She graduated from Brookville Area School District with the Class of 1963. Following high school, she worked in hotel management where she traveled often for different management conferences. On August 2, 1963, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” McKinley, in New York and they spent 55 wonderful years together. Robert preceded her in passing on July 12, 2018. Juanita was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brookville and was part of the Rainbow Lady’s Group. Juanita spent her time researching her family’s history on Genealogy and had a whole room dedicated to her research. She followed her family history all the way back to the Civil War. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and Christmas time. Juanita is survived by three children: Michele “Missy” Williams, Robert “Rob” McKinley, and Melinda (Monte West) Wiles; two grandchildren: Josh (Joseph) Wiles and Tori (Andrea Nagy) Williams; along with numerous grand kitties, puppies, and a burro. She is also survived by a sister-in-law: Cathy Johnson. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in passing by one brother: John Johnson II; and one grandson: Joey Wiles. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 10am to 1pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place immediately following the viewing, beginning at 1pm and officiated by Bishop Jeff Seibach. Interment will take place at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Eldred Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2765 Maplevale Rd, Brookville, PA 15825.
