Jemima Charlotte (Hill) Spiers

Jemima Charlotte Hill Spiers, (86), passed away on Feb. 22, 2022 at DuBois Penn Highlands Medical Center.

Jemima was born in Blairsville, PA on July 2, 1935 to John C. Hill and Ethel M. Lewis Hill.   

She married the love of her life, James R. Spiers on March 19, 1958.

Jemima was an active and loving person.  She loved going to bingo games and spending time with the many babies in her family.  She also enjoyed having conversations and visiting with everyone she knew. Further, she loved her coffee and had a sweet tooth. She was a spunky woman right until her death.

She is survived by many children including her sons James (Herb) and Mary Jo Hill, Kenneth and Tammy Spiers and Charles (Billy) and Melody Spiers all of Punxsutawney PA. and Richard( Dicky) and Robin Spiers of Dayton PA as well as her daughters Ethel Storms and paramour John Nulf of Rossiter, PA and Linda and  Vince Sweed of Punxsutawney PA.

She is also survived by two son-in-laws as well as numerous grandchildren, a whole lot of great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.

She’s additionally survived by her sisters Charlotte Lane of Punxsutawney PA.,and Mary Campagnola and Lillian (Jane) Woods of Rossiter, PA.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband along with her long time companion Wade Reitz. Also preceding her are her children Joann Hill Campbell, Patty Spiers Womer, John Spiers and Jesse Spiers.  She is also pre-deceased by her brothers Junior, Raymond, Alexander, Charles, Philip and Gerald Hill along with sisters Audrey Love, Geraldine (Sue) McCormick and Violet Neal and grandchildren Barry, Hope and Clair Campbell and Mark Spiers

Jemima’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, PA. 

There will be a public visitation from 11 AM until 3 PM on Saturday February 26, 2022.   She will be buried privately in Reynoldsville Cemetery on Monday Feb. 28, 2022.
