Janice Anthony

Janice (Yale) Anthony of Brookville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 2, 2023.  Jan was born June 10, 1948, in Dubois, PA., the daughter of Ed and Betty Yale, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Bradford Area High School in 1966. On March 21,1968, Jan married Robert Anthony in Olean, NY, who survives. Jan was a very strong supporter and an encouraging wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved and cherished her family. She was a woman of integrity. She always spoke her mind without being offensive or condescending, but, held firm to her convictions earning the respect and loyalty of all. She would freely give of her time to help those in need. Jan was a military spouse who accompanied her husband overseas while he served in the United States Army, living in Okinawa and Italy. She was a true historian and enjoyed touring Europe and seeing the old churches and architecture of Europe, especially touring on a motorcycle. Jan thoroughly enjoyed Venice and the open  air markets of Italy. She was an experienced gardener and would give advice to those in need of help with their plants and herbs. As an avid reader, she would read about places and then go to see them in person. A remarkable lady who loved all animals, but, watching and feeding as many birds as possible was one of her favorite past times. Jan Also was an accomplished fisherwoman and an experienced camper. Jan retired from work as a federal employee from the Quantico Marine Corps Base in Virginia. She relocated to the Brookville area in 2003 and became an active member of the Kahletown Community Church.

Surviving is her husband of fifty-five Years, Robert; three sons, Robert Jr. (Dianne) Anthony of Fredericksburg, VA, Matthew Anthony Sr. of Spotsylvania, VA, Steven Sr. (Carolyn) Anthony of Sigel, PA, and one daughter, Carrie Anthony of Dubois, PA. Jan loved her grandchildren, Matthew Jr., Michael, Krista (Ethan), Kyle (Katie), Sean, John, Nathan, Robert III, Kyle, Skyla, Isabel, Christian, Ryan, Steve, Jason, and Fred. Her great grandchildren: Aubrey, Joshua, Leon, and Marcus. Jan is also survived by her brother, James (JoAnn) Yale of Blue Mountain, MS. In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her brother Gary (Pat) Yale of Meherrin, VA.

A private family viewing will take place. A public funeral service will take place on Monday July 10, 2023, at the Kahletown Community Church, 11651 Fisher Rd., Sigel PA, 15860, beginning at 11:00am, and officiated by Reverend JJ Johnson.
