James Donald “Don” Swab, 85, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, in Erie, PA. James was born on October 27, 1938, to the late Jay McKee and Arlene Lucille “Artie” (Weary) Swab, in Westville, PA. James married Irma J. Yohe, on July 1, 1961; Irma survives him. He graduated from high school and did two years of trade school. He was a CNC operator and retired from Roebucell Internation in DuBois, PA. He attended the Brookville Calvary Church of the Nazearene. James was a kind man, he volunteered every weekend with his wife at different nursing homes. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was a great provider for his family. James is survived by one daughter: Kim Hempel; one son: Douglas Kevin Swab; three granddaughters: Bethany Rachelle Reilly, Sherilyn Ashley Hansley; Jodi Hempel; two grandsons: Mike (Reetu) Bok and Devin (Kayla) Hempel; seven great-grandchildren: Alonia, Curtis, Aniyah, Kayden, Kip, Dane and Carter. He is also survived by one sister: Jane (Ronald) Lindemuth. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in passing by three brothers: J. Robert Swab, Alvin Swab, Jacob Henry Swab; and four sisters: Julia Chatield, Artie Louis Swab, Violet Hinman, Dorothy Caltagarone. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 12pm to 3pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will take place immediately following the viewing, also at the funeral home, beginning at 3pm and officiated by Pastor Jimmy Swogger.
