Helen Elizabeth Ann (Knaus) Boyle

Helen Elizabeth Ann (Knaus) Boyle, 96, of Falls Creek, PA, passed away during the evening hours of Wednesday, May 3, 2023, while at her home. She was born on September 14, 1926, to the late Frank and Katherine (Kolan) Knaus in Falls Creek. Helen graduated from St. Catherine High School and worked for Penn Traffic in DuBois. She also worked for Brockway Glass in Plant #1 until retirement. Helen was married to Edward Boyle for 35 years; Edward preceded her in passing in 1983. Helen was Catholic by faith and a longtime member of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Falls Creek. She was also a member of the St. Bernard’s Rosary Society. Helen cared deeply for others and also spent time as a hospice volunteer. She loved being outside, mowing and taking care of her yard, and shoveling snow in the winter. She also enjoyed crocheting hats for her enjoyment and donating them to whoever needed them. Helen is survived by three children; Kareen (James) Jackson; Kevin (Kathy) Boyle; Kris (Butch) Wingert; five grandchildren; Heather Boyle Mitchell; Erin Lougee; Christi Jarbeck; Angela Wingert; Kylie Christy; fourteen great – grandchildren; Braden Ross; Jase Lougee; Mia Lougee; Harper Lougee; Ryan Jarbeck; Gavin Tenny; Coby Christy; Taylor Wingert; Ella Christy; Anna Christy; Tyler Christy; Jude Wingert; Elin Marasigan; Christopher Marasigan; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in passing by one daughter; Kathleen DePew; two granddaughters; Heidi Boyle Tenny; Carisa Wingert; and five siblings; Mary Mezlar; Rosann Graham; Genevieve Scarfo; Frank Knouse; and John Knouse. Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 2pm to 6pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 205 Taylor Ave., Falls Creek, PA 15840, on Saturday, May 6, 2023, beginning at 11:00am and officiated by Father Edward Walk. Interment will take place at St. Catherine Cemetery, DuBois, Clearfield Co., PA.
