Hazel M. Nolf

Hazel M. Nolf, 78, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, while a resident at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Hazel was born on December 10, 1944, to the late Richard L. and Mildred L. (Smith) Burkhouse in Hormtown, PA. She graduated from Brockway Area High School with the Class of 1962. Hazel was employed by Brookville Glove and retired after 30 years of service. Hazel was Protestant by faith. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Punxsutawney, Brookville, and Falls Creek, a member of the Walston’s Club in Punxsutawney, Brookville Fireman’s Club, and a life member of the Warsaw Township Sportsman’s Club. Hazel is survived three sons; Ed (Karen) Reitz Jr.; William (Alice) Reitz; Scott (Miranda) Reitz; daughter; Wendy Attinger; one sister; Martha (Wendell) Shaffer; stepchildren; Sean Nolf; Brian Nolf; and her significant other of 18 years; Leonard Thompson Jr. and his children; Valerie (Luke Bright) Thompson; Leonard III (Brandy) Thompson; and Tyler Thompson. Hazel is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with two more on the way. In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in passing by her first husband; Edward Reitz Sr.; her second husband; Ralph Nolf Jr.; one brother; four sisters; one son-in-law; one stepdaughter; and one step-granddaughter. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 5pm to 7pm, at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will take place immediately following the viewing, also at the funeral home, beginning at 7pm. Final interment will take place at Smithtown Cemetery, Hormtown, Jefferson Co., PA.
