Gail Evelyn Schuppenhauer, 79, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on March 7, 2025, while a resident at Highland View Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Brockway, PA. Born in DuBois, PA, on July 7, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Katharyn T. (Thompson) Leech.
Gail was a graduate of DuBois Area High School with the Class of 1963. She dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a nursing aide in various nursing homes. She was also known for her strong faith and kind heart. She was a devoted member of the Brockway Church of God, where she found great comfort and community.
On October 8, 1994, she married Charles Edward Schuppenhauer, with whom she shared many cherished memories until his passing in 2020. They enjoyed long car rides together, sharing stories and laughter along the way.
Gail was happiest when surrounded by family. She loved sitting on her front porch, watching the world go by, and she was an avid people-watcher. Her generous and warm spirit was felt by all who knew her. Above all, she adored spending time with her grandchildren, bringing joy to their lives as much as they brought to hers.
Gail is survived by her loving children: Carrie (Jim) Prosper, Jill (Jason Chesley) Mancuso, Raymond Taft, and Gary Taft; and her cherished grandchildren: Isaac Prosper, Ryan Mancuso, and Landon Mancuso; along with numerous family members from her husband Charles’ family. In addition to her parents and husband, Gail was preceded in passing by her sister, Judith Leech.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Snyder - d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM and officiated by Pastor David Nagele. Gail will be laid to rest at Riggs Cemetery, Warsaw Twp., Jefferson County, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Brockway Church of God, honoring Gail’s lifelong faith and devotion which was extremely important to her.
