Eugene "Gene" D. Richards

Eugene “Gene” Richards, 77, of Brookville, PA, passed away during the morning hours of Wednesday, December 4, 2024, while a resident of Clarion Healthcare and Rehab in Clarion, PA. Gene was born on January 24, 1947, to the late Gerlad Edwin and Virigina Evelyn (Uplinger) Richards in Brookville. Gene graduated from Brookville Area High School. He proudly served with the United States Army as a cook during Vietnam. He was employed by Humphrey’s Charcoal in Brookville. Gene was known for the time he spent around Brookville saying hello to everyone who passed by. He is also remembered for being very loud and excentric. He also loved to be helpful. Gene is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in passing by five siblings: Gerald F. Richards, Barbara Bullers, Harold Richards, Rose Richards, and his twin sister: Jane Miller. Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held immediately following the viewing, also at the funeral home, beginning at 3pm and officiated by Pastor Sam Bundy.
