Elizabeth "Bette" Milford Obituary

Elizabeth “Bette” Pauline (Galbraith) Milford, age 100, of Brookville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville, PA. Born on October 1, 1924, to the late Ford and Alice (St. Pierre) Galbraith, Bette was a proud lifelong resident of Brookville.

Bette graduated from Brookville High School in 1942. She married the love of her life, Milo Hamilton Milford Jr., on June 13, 1946, in Brookville, PA. Together they shared many wonderful years of marriage before Milo’s passing on March 9, 1997.

In addition to her role as a devoted homemaker, Bette worked at A. Ferraro and Co., Sylvania in Brookville, and later, once her children were grown, she joined Dan Smith’s Candies, where her warmth and work ethic were cherished.

Bette was a woman of many talents and joys. She was renowned for her baking, especially her pies, and was known to transform a simple soup bone into a gourmet meal. A lover of bingo, card games, and occasional trips to try her luck at gambling, she was the embodiment of vibrant energy. Bette adored her dogs, delighted in traveling, and had a special affection for the Christmas season. Above all else, Bette loved spending time with her family.

Bette is survived by her children: Patrick Milford, Mary Jane Milford, Michael (Patricia) Milford, Elizabeth "Betsy" Milford, Timothy (Brenda) Milford, and John (Patti) Milford; her grandchildren: Milo H. (Ann) Milford, Amberli (Nick) Gaio, Megan (Kevin) Alexander, Molly Milford, Katie (Chad) Fuller, and Mary Jo (Kevin Latchaw) Milford; her great-grandchildren: Hanna (Cody) Sullivan, Jack, Allison and Sam Lipinski, Elizabeth Draa, Fiona Latchaw, Christabel and Freya Fuller; and her great-great-grandchildren: Luna and Lyla Sullivan.

In addition to her husband and parents, Bette was preceded in death by her siblings: Cleo Kraus, Nikki Brown, and Albert "Buzz" Galbraith.
