Edgar "Ed" Niel Blose Jr.

Edgar “Ed” Niel Blose Jr., 72, of Brookville, PA, passed away during the afternoon hours of Friday, July 7, 2023, while a resident at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor. Ed was born on April 10, 1951, to the late Edgar Niel Sr., and Lucy Jane (Gamble) Blose in Tarentum, PA. After graduating from high school, Ed advanced his education by receiving an associate degree in forestry from Paul Smiths College. He was a recognized Eagle Scout with years of experience in the Boy Scouts of America. Ed was known by his family and friends as an avid hunter. He loved his hunting dogs as they chased rabbits and the crisp woods hunting squirrels and deer. Ed spent long hours providing for his family knowing they were given the opportunity to chase their dreams. His family was his most prized achievement. He always taught his children the importance of honor and hard work. This extended to his seven beautiful grandchildren. His face would light up at the mention of their names. “We all knew we were loved. Paw Paw, Dad Dad, and Dad, you are forever in our hearts and minds.” Ed is survived by two children; Craig Niel Blose; Kate Lynn Schrecengost; seven grandchildren; Carter Niel Blose; Carly Jean Blose; Isabelle Marie Schrecengost; Gage Andrew Schrecengost; Elliott Morgan Schrecengost; Drew Robert Schrecengost; and Violet Ann Schrecengost. Per Ed’s request, services will be held privately to the family and have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
