Donald “Don” Walter Beight, 84, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, while a resident of Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Don was born on July 19, 1937, to the late Walter Harold and Margaret Louise (Emery) Beight in New Castle, PA. He graduated from Union Area High School with the class of 1955. Immediately after graduation, Don proudly served his country with the United States Navy from 1955 to 1958. After his service, Don worked for steel mills around Youngstown, OH, from 1958 to 1960. He then went on to become a Pennsylvania State Trooper from December 1960 to July 1989. Don married Mary “Mary Beth” Spear on June 15, 1963; Mary Beth survives him. While living in Sigel, PA, he worked at Sunderland Forestry Services from 1989 to 1999 and K&N Boat Sales where he sold and repaired boats. He was Methodist by faith. Don was a member of the Sigel Methodist Church and later a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brookville. Don was an avid hunter; he would hunt all seasons and also loved fishing, especially in Canada. He enjoyed his Shetland stallion harness pony that he would show in the Tristate Circuit. Later in life, when health issues slowed Don down, the best medicine was talking to his grandson. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in passing by two sons: Brian and Neal.
