Derek Vincen Plyler

Derek Vincen Plyler, 64, of Brookville PA, passed away on Friday, August 26 ,2022, at his home. He was born on September 23, 1957, to the late Darrell and Judy (Gilhousen) Plyler in Brookville PA. Derek graduated from Brookville Area High School and went on to graduate from Penn State University with an associate degree. Derek was a paramedic, he also loved his work in construction and carpentry, which he did all his life. Derek was a member of Pheasant Forever, Friends of the Flag, as well as the National Shoot to Retrieve. Derek loved his dogs. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Derek was an avid hunter. Derek will be dearly missed by those close to him. Derek is survived by one aunt; Mary Jane Gilhousen; two cousins; Scott Gilhousen; Drew Gilhousen; and former wife; Holli Frye. In addition to his parents, Derek is preceded in death by his cousin Chris Gilhousen, and beloved dog Toby. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Friends of the Flag, PO 254 Brookville, PA 15825. A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date.  Services have been entrusted to the McKinney-d’Argy funeral home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
