Cynthia "Cindy" Bundy Obituary

Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Bundy, 66, of Soldier, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at her home after a brave battle against cancer.  Born September 23, 1957, in DuBois, she was the daughter of Raymond Yohe and the late Bertha (Mowrey) Yohe.

Cindy graduated from Jeff Tech in 1975 and worked at various locations as a lab tech.  Eventually, she stopped working as a lab tech to become a full-time grandmother.

She married the love of her life, Samuel Bundy, on August 29, 1981.   The two of them started out renting a house in Reynoldsville, then eventually moving to a hill in “Big Soldier,” just up the road from the house where she was raised.  Together, they built a life in that homestead, raising three children there.   When the house burned down, she embraced it as a new opportunity to create a space even more welcoming for her grandchildren, giving them more room to play and grow.

She doted on her three grandchildren, filling her house with snacks and toys and was happiest when they thundered through the house playing and laughing.  The grandchildren could count on seeing “Grammy and Boppa” at as many school events as they could attend.  Her family gave her joy, and she tried to spend as much time with them as she could.  Every Sunday was family dinner, bringing her children and their families from around the area back to the same property where she and Sam had planted their roots over 30 years before. Sam and Cindy were always together, and she was his partner and equal in everything he did.  When Sam entered the ministry, she co-ministered with him, always supporting him and his church through organizing dinners, preparing communion, opening their home to parishioners, and finding ways to help the community around the Reynoldsville Alliance Church.

In addition to her husband, Sam, Cindy is survived by her father, Ray Yohe, and her siblings, Vicki Morgan of Greensburg and Tom (Ruth Heckman) Yohe of Sykesville, along with her three children: Andrew (Joy) Bundy, Beth (Eric) Saxman, and Joshua (Mindy) Bundy, and three grandchildren, Connor and Olivia Saxman, and Timothy Bundy.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851, from 3pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, beginning at 11am, with her husband, Pastor Sam Bundy officiating.
