Carol Anne (Seelye) Cox, 80, of Corsica, PA, passed away during the late-night hours of Wednesday, November 6, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born on April 4, 1944, to the late Frank Patrick and Caroline Marie (Schaberl) Seelye in St. Mary’s, PA. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School with the Class of 1962. Carol was married to Cecil Lowell Cox during a small ceremony, witnessed by family and friends, in the backyard of their home, on July 2, 1988, in Corsica; Cecil preceded her in passing on May 8, 2023. Carol worked at Airco and Powdered Metal in St. Mary’s. Carol also worked as a Legal Secretary for Achille, Ellermeyer, and French in Brookville, and then for Pope, Drayer, and French in Clarion, PA. She was also a past President of the Corsica Borough Council. Carol had a very warm and welcoming personality. She was a friend to everyone she met. Carol loved to spend her time with her family, and she enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, reading, gardening, and playing cards. Carol is survived by four daughters: Laura L. Bent, Michele M. Shetler, Karen L. Tyler, and Leah J. Schneider-Stewart; one sister: Nadine Brosky; thirteen grandchildren: James Bent, Luke Bent, Julia Bent, Kristen Petrosky, Joseph Aveni, Frank Aveni, Emily Aveni, Rachel Campbell, Fredrick McGarry, Phillip Sneed, Curtis Sneed, Kesiah Stewart, and Amelia Stewart. Carol is also survived by nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Carol is preceded in passing by one sister: Delores Mertz. Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 29, 2024, for a memorial service beginning at 11am, at the Pisgah Presbyterian Church, 36 Church St., Corsica, PA 15829, and officiated by Pastor Jimmy Swogger. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
