Carl Thomas (Tom) Henry Jr, 78, died peacefully on Wednesday evening January 6, 2021 at the Ogden Regional Medical Center after living for several years at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden, Utah.

Carl was born November 20, 1942, the fifth child and only son of Carl Thomas and Alpha Henry in Rochester Mills, PA.  His childhood was spent helping in the garden, raising chickens, and tending to pigs.  He fished, hunted deer, possum, coons, and groundhogs with the help of his father.

After attending a one room school for eight years, Tom attended Marion Center High School.  Following graduation from high school, he went to live with his sister Pat, in Riverside, CA, where he attended Riverside Junior College.

He moved back to PA where he finished college, attaining his Bachelor’s degree at Slippery Rock State College.  He joined the Air Force as a services specialist.   Tom served 18 years in the Air Force, which took him to Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Antarctic, Pakistan, England, and Turkey.   During this time, he met his wife Judith and transitioned to Air Force Reserves at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.  He resided in Clearfield, Utah and began his career at the US Postal Service.

Tom and Judy were the parents of their only child and Tom’s greatest fishing and hunting buddy, Clinton Thomas Henry.

Tom was recalled to active military duty during the Gulf War and ultimately ended his Air Force career in 2003 after serving honorably for 36 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Phyllis, and his wife Judy.
