Bernard "Bernie" William Walk, 85, of Big Run, PA, passed away on February 9, 2025, at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville, PA. He was born on February 20, 1939, in DuBois, PA, to the late Gilbert Lloyd and Nina Grace (Dixon) Walk.
Bernie attended public school until the 10th grade and later achieved his goal of receiving his GED in adulthood. He worked at Kohlhepp's True Value Hardware in DuBois, PA, from July 1988 through 2002. On July 15, 1967, he married the love of his life, Amy Lou Kuntz, in DuBois, PA. She preceded him in passing on May 16, 2019.
Bernie loved the outdoors, especially fishing and gardening. He was a character and took joy in poking fun at his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters: Becky Ann Walk of Cherry Tree, PA, and Wendy Kay Walk of Rossiter, PA; his sister, Earla A. (Evans) Fohringer of DuBois, PA; his grandchildren: Coddie A. Walk and Jesse M. Walk of Big Run, PA, Ryan T. Walk of DuBois, Alyssa R. Walk of Cherry Tree, Duane W. Bouch of Rossiter, PA, Sheridan L. Bouch of DuBois, PA, and Teighlor B. Walk of Rossiter; and his great-grandchildren: Reid T. Walk and Ariyah K. Walk of Rossiter, Daniel R. Lovash III of DuBois, Cheyenne E. Kemmerer of DuBois, and Adriana, Mariana, and Lorenzo Lowmaster of Cherry Tree.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bernie was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jessica L. Walk, and three brothers: Allison R. Walk of Helvetia, Howard Walk of Troutville, and Lloyd E. Walk of Falls Creek, PA.
His services are being held privately at the convenience of his family, with final interment taking place at Salem Cemetery.
