Alberta Violet (Knapp) Bish, 92, of Kingsville, PA, passed away peacefully on August 9th, 2023, at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor, Brookville, PA, after a brief illness. Born November 14, 1931, in Baxter, PA, she was the only daughter of 7 kids born to the late Curtis and Mabel (Rhodes) Knapp. Alberta attended and graduated from Redbank Valley School District. After graduation Alberta went to work in a factory before owning her own restaurant in Fairmount City for many years. Alberta married Robert Harry Bish on September 10th, 1961, in Punxsutawney, PA, at 2 O’clock in the afternoon. They were married for 49 years before Roberts passing in 2010. Alberta lived in New Bethlehem, PA, for a period and survived the flood on July 19, 1996. After retirement Alberta’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and the many family reunions, they all attended over the years. Alberta attended the Cornerstone Church of God in Hawthorne, PA, where she was loved by all. Alberta is survived by one brother in law; Ken Bish; many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great great nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her six brothers; Theodore Knapp; Steven Knapp; Doyle Knapp; Lyle Knapp; Harry Knapp; David Knapp, an infant brother and sister, and a nephew, Andy Knapp. At Alberta’s request there will be no calling hours or services. Alberta’s family has entrusted the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825, with all of the arrangements. Interment will take place at Jefferson Cemetery, Clover Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
